Your chance to Participate in Continuous Passive Income in Test Automation,
one of the highest growth markets in the next decade!

Polaris Market Research, March 2022, and more

This program presents a remarkable opportunity for companies or individuals with marketing expertise to generate continuous passive income by promoting AgileWay's highly acclaimed and award-winning software products: TestWise and BuildWise Agent.
  • Ongoing
As long as your referred customers maintain their status and you remain an active marketing partner, you will continue to receive commissions on their license fees.
  • Generous Commission
Earn 35% at the Silver level and 50% at the Gold level for sales of AgileWay products (service commissions, such as for training, may vary). Yes, up to 50%! This means you receive the same amount as we do on a sale for products we've tirelessly developed since 2007.
  • Simple and Transparent
You just need to do the marketing, we take care of the rest, including training, support, documentation, brochure, …, etc.  You're also welcome to offer additional services like training and coaching directly to your customers. Plus, you have complete freedom to promote discounted prices at your discretion.
  • Promising Prospect
Software development is a huge industry and its movement to "Agile", "DevOps", "Release Early, Release Often" means big spending on end-to-end testing. According to the latest MarketsAndMarkets report, "The global Automation testing market size is expected to grow USD 20.7 billion in 2021 to USD 49.9 billion by 2026, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 19.2% during the forecast period."
  • No Joining or Annual Fee
To qualify to start as a Sliver Partner, just need to sell 5 units (TestWise, BuildWise Agent licenses, or our one-day training/coaching sessions). We recommend 1 TestWise + 3 BuildWise Agents to get started on test automation anyway. So, it is not a joining fee, but rather an investment to get to know the product and test automation. Since this is technical-focused marketing, this initial step is crucial. Once you become a marketing partner, you'll start receiving commissions for future sales as long as you maintain your marketing status.
  • Easy to Promote
TestWise and BuildWise are tools for supporting Selenium and Appium test scripts based on the most popular WebDriver protocol (a W3C standard) and common test syntax frameworks such RSpec, Mocha, Pytest and Cucumber. In theory, it shall have less resistance. The pricing of TestWise and BuildWise is very competitive. Traditional testing tools are typically priced between $2000 - $5000; TestWise: $360 and $720 (personal and floating license).
  • Broad market
    Our tools are suitable for:
    • Web Test Automation, testing websites in a real browser
    • Desktop Test Automation, testing Windows native apps
    • Mobile Test Automation, testing apps on smartphones (iOS and Android)
    • API Testing
    • Performance Testing and Load Testing
  • More business opportunities
Test Automation and Continuous Testing are two hot skills that many software companies desire but lack the capability. With the sale of software testing tools, you may get your business into the following services:
    • Test Automation Consulting and Coaching
    • Test Automation Training
    • Testing services: develop tests for software projects

We have two levels in this marketing partner program.

Silver Level Marketing Partner

35% commission on license fees received from referred customers.
ELIGIBILITY
  • To qualify:
    • A key representative attended one of our one-day online training or a Coachinng session(let us get to know each other)
    • 5 sales of TestWise, BuildWise Agent licenses, Training or Coaching sessions within the same calendar month.
  • To preserve the silver partner status, it is necessary to meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • Five genuine sales per calendar quarter (excludes the first quarter)
    • Maintain more than 20 active customer units (a customer unit refers a sale or renewal)

Gold Level Marketing Partner

50% even split on license fees received from referred customers.
ELIGIBILITY
  • A Sliver-Level Marketing Partner status over the last 6 months.
  • To maintain Gold Marketing Partner status, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • 15 genuine sales per calendar quarter (excludes the first quarter)
    • Maintain more than 50 active customer units (a customer unit refers to a sale or renewal)
  • A former Gold Marketing Partner can apply to retain their Silver Partner status by submitting an application within 10 days of failing to meet the criteria.

Example

A gold marketing partner achieved the following sales this month.
  • 20 sales of TestWise Floating licenses
  • 10 sales of TestWise Personal licenses
  • 30 sales of BuildWise Agent licenses
and some of its past customers made renewals (25% discount).
  • renewals: 50 TestWise Floating, 30 TestWise Personal; 100 BuildWise Agent
This month's commission for new sales: (20 * 720 + 10 * 360 + 30 * 360) * 50% = $14,400
This month's commission for renewals (your past customers): (50 * 720 + 30 * 360 + 100 * 360) * 0.75 * 50% = $31,050

The total commission this month: US$44,450. (If this marketing partner can maintain this pace, they could earn up to half a million US dollars in passive income annually).

retaining existing customers is crucial, which aligns with the strengths of our tools. For a software team committed to DevOps, daily automated regression testing becomes essential. This means team members will use TestWise daily to develop, debug, and run automated tests, while all tests will also be executed in BuildWise on a daily basis.

FAQ

1. How do I receive the commission?
There are two ways, depending on how customers pay the license fee:
  • The customer pays to you
You transfer or make a payment (minus your commission) to us. Upon receiving that, we will send you the license keys.
  • The customer pays us directly (after your promotion)
You recorded potential buys in our support system (details will be provided). Upon receiving the customer's payment, it will be linked to your account, fully transparent.

The commission will be paid at the beginning of the month. Please note, any payment transaction fee (e.g. 4% credit card processing fee) will be deducted before calculating your commission.

2. What counts as a valid sale unit?
  • A sale of a TestWise License (personal or floating), the unit is valid until the license's end date
  • A sale of a BuildWise Agent License, the unit is valid until the license's end date
  • A sale leading to an AgileWay one-day training session
  • A sale leading to an AgileWay one-day coaching session
  • A sale of WhenWise, our service booking app, to a genuine business (starting only $5/month), there is no commission for this, but it may count for units.
3. Can I sell TestWise and BuildWise Agent licenses at a discount price?

Yes, you have the freedom to promote AgileWay's products at >= 50% of the full price. A Marketing partner's changing of the price only affects its commission received. For example, a TestWise license is US$720/year. A marketing partner sells 10 licenses at $600 each to a company as a bundle. The commission will be

  Gold Level: ($600 - 50% of $720) * 10 = $2400
Sliver Level: ($600 - 50% of $720) * 0.7 * 10 = $1680
4. How about software support?

AgileWay will provide standard (Ticket-based) support to all customers.

5. Can marketing partners offer direct support agreements to their clients?

Yes, it is at the freedom of marketing partners.

6. How can I be the exclusive marketing partner for a region?

If you are doing extremely well, we can consider that.

7. Can I get you to participate in demonstrating TestWise/BuildWise features, such as developing automated tests live for my potential customer?

In most cases, yes, and we’ll be happy to assist. However, we reserve the right to decline if there are unforeseen requirements from the customers.

We strongly recommend that our marketing partners invest time in understanding and using TestWise and BuildWise, as it will benefit your business. We will offer free ebooks and resources to marketing partners.

8. Is there a cap on marketing partners in a region?

Yes, a Maximum of 2 Gold Level and a Maximum of 10 Silver Level Partners in one state or province.

9. I am a current marketing partner. Will I get commissions when my customers make further purchases of TestWise or BuildWise Agent licenses in the future?

Yes, as long as you maintain active partner status by meeting the quarterly sales targets, the customers you bring to us will always be yours.

10. I am a past marketing partner (failed to meet the sales criteria), will I continue to receive ongoing commissions for my past referred customers when they renew licenses?

No, payments cease after a quarter in which you fail to meet the sales target. For instance, if you have been an active partner for two years and miss the target in the March-June quarter, your final payment will be for that March-June quarter.

After losing the active status, all previous records will be cleared! So, keeping the active status is important; do your best to keep it. After all, the sales target is quite low anyway.

11. I am a past marketing partner (failed to meet the sales criteria). Will I still get a commission for a new sale?

Yes, 30% for TestWise and BuildWise Agent licenses. However, this is a once-off. Only current marketing partners receive ongoing payments (renewals and new purchases).

12. AgileWay Software comes with free mode; I am afraid that will affect sales.

We believe that offering free versions will boost sales. For example, Atlassian started promoting Jira by providing free versions to open-source projects, and JetBrains offers free community editions of IntelliJ IDEA. Similarly, TestWise and BuildWise Agents are aimed at customers in the same category.

13. The demand for test automation is high, but it seems not easy to promote test automation as it will introduce changes.

Yes. Based on our experience, a bottom-up approach may not be effective, as many middle-level managers and software architects are often resistant to change.

Having said that, every company is different, and you have the freedom.

14. I am interested, but I am not ready to invest money to qualify for the silver marketing partner yet. What shall I do?

That's perfectly fine. You can start with virtually $0, as TestWise and BuildWise Agent are available in a free mode with full features but some inconveniences. We suggest you start with Zhimin Zhan's books and his Medium articles

Once you are comfortable, try to convince your company to attend AgileWay's one-day training. With just 5 attendants, you qualify for the Sliver Partner status (of course, you need to contact us first).

    15. Why don't you do marketing?

AgileWay is a family-owned private business with a strong tech focus, we intend to keep it that way. We have never had marketing teams. While there has been some interest from others wanting to get involved with TestWise, the three most common requests have been::

    • Dramatically increase the price, e.g. from $500 to $5000.
Some even said: with a higher price, they can spend money to bribe IT managers.
We didn't like that at all.
    • Support a Proprietary test script to lock customers for a higher price.
    • Drop the community edition (now free mode).

We rejected all of them. Since 2009 (TestWise v1), we have always wanted test automation to be free (as in freedom) and affordable to everyone, as there will be a huge demand for real agile software projects. Also, the rise of Micro-ISV and Side Hustle means a new high-growing market for affordable E2E test automation. The trend of lowering testing tools' prices matched our prediction (from ~$12000 to $4000 now).

We made sales along the way, including some of the world's largest companies, see the customer list. Because of our high development productivity with the help of TestWise and BuildWise, we developed some apps such as ClinicWise, SiteWise, WhenWise and TestWisely. These divert our efforts away from the non-technical aspects of TestWise and BuildWise.
